Registration is closed for this event
This is a two part, in person training course, delivered by the Royal Literary Fund

Please note, when registering for this event, you are committing to two sessions (Monday the 22nd of January, 2pm to 4pm, and Monday the 29th of January, 2pm to 4pm). Please only register if you can attend both sessions. The fee you pay will cover both sessions.

This course will support you to
●Understand the key principles of writing applications for funding
●Develop a structured approach to project planning using a Theory of Change (ToC)
model
●Practise the ‘writing cycle’ – Think: Plan: Write: Edit.

Members can join this course for £25, and non members can join this course for £40.

Workshop 1 (January 22nd, 2pm to 4pm):
Through writing exercises and discussion based on real funders and
application processes, you will explore how to interpret funding criteria; clarify your aims,
objectives and outcomes; and develop a structured ToC approach to project planning. You
will then develop a draft application between Workshop 1 and Workshop 2.

Workshop 2 (29th January, 2pm to 4pm):
This session will draw together learning from the draft applications developed
by participants following Workshop 1, and support you to:
● Consolidate the ‘writing cycle’ – Think: Plan: Write: Edit
● Practise skills in organising information, formulating ideas and expressing yourself
clearly, coherently and concisely
● Explore how applications might be different for different funders
● Reflect on key elements of content, structure and style
● Consider the practicalities and ‘nuts & bolts’ of writing funding applications.
