What is the Community Bus?
Our Community Bus Service is a special initiative that caters to the residents of Welwyn, Hatfield and all other areas within Hertfordshire. This bus service is designed with the aim of providing a comfortable and convenient mode of transportation right from your doorstep.
One of the key destinations of our bus service is Jimmy Macs, a registered charity that is dedicated to creating a welcoming and engaging environment for individuals who are aged 55 and over, as well as for people with learning disabilities.
This destination offers a refreshing change of scenery and a chance to interact with others in a comfortable setting. It’s a place where friendships can be formed and fun activities can be enjoyed, contributing to an overall sense of community and belonging.
What sets our Community Bus Service apart is its focus on accessibility. Understanding the challenges that some of our passengers may face, our vehicles are equipped with features to accommodate their needs. For instance, the buses are wheelchair accessible, ensuring that passengers who use wheelchairs can board and alight with ease. Additionally, our buses have low-floors, a feature that is particularly helpful for those who find it difficult to navigate steps.
In essence, our Community Bus Service is a thoughtful and low-cost alternative to public transport, specifically designed for those who may find traditional modes of transportation challenging to use. It’s not just a bus service, but a lifeline that connects our passengers to the community and the activities they love. We are here to ensure that everyone can travel with comfort, dignity and ease.
