Your Community Hub for the local community is in the heart of the north side of Borehamwood. Pop by for free help and advice - this is available to all those who need it. Our friendly team are on hand to help with everything from computer and smartphone assistance, to supporting you with financial advice.

What can I find at the Community Hub?

At the Hub you can find the following facilities, support and opportunities:

Employment Support

When? Every Friday from 1pm - 3pm.

  • Creating online job-seeking profiles
  • Writing CVs, personal statements, and cover letters
  • Interview techniques

Housing Advice Community Drop-In

When? Every last Tuesday of the month from 24 September 2024, from 10am - 12 noon.

Hertsmere Borough Council's Housing and Homelessness Prevention Team is providing a new drop-in advice service. They will be able to give guidance on:

  • Homelessness and housing issues
  • Housing register, tenancy issues, rent arrears, evictions, disrepair, overcrowding and more.
  • Options available to those in difficulty tenancy situations.

We can help you with signposting to local organisations, health and wellbeing activities, information on local services, and volunteering opportunities. For example, visit us to find out about:

Office Services and Digital Support

When? Office services and digital support are available whenever Your Community Hub is open.

Your Community Hub has a computer available to use for free. You're also welcome to bring your own device to connect to our internet.

  • Basic form filling
  • Typing and email services
  • Printing and scanning

We can also support you to use smartphones, tablets and other technological devices. And if you're struggling to contact your GP via online services or an automated telephone system, just come along and we will help.

 

Pension Credit Application Support

When? Weekdays from 9am - 3:45pm.

Could you be entitled to Pension Credit? Pop into Your Community Hub for a free eligibility check and help to apply! Pension Credit gives you extra money to help with your living costs if you're over State Pension age and on a low income. It is worth, on average, £3,900 per year.

Please bring with you:

  • National Insurance Number
  • Bank details
  • Information about any income, savings or investments

Rennie Grove Peace's Compassionate Support Hub

When? First Tuesday of the month from 10:30am - 11:30am.

Rennie Grove Peace’s Compassionate Support Hubs ​are drop-in sessions - there is no need to book. They provide a space for members of our community who have been affected by any type of loss and would like to come along for a friendly chat and a chance to meet others over a cup of tea.

Quitting Smoking

When? Drop-in to start your journey when Your Community Hub is open.

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you will ever do for your physical and mental health, and is better for your family and friends. Pop down to Your Community Hub to book an appointment. If you're not able to visit us, you can :

Borehamwood Foodbank - coming soon!

The Hub is hoping to soon be able to host an evening Foodbank session for those in need of support who are unable to get to the Foodbank during daytime hours due to their work patterns. For more information, visit the website, email info@borehamwood.foodbank.org.uk or call 0208 583 1109.
