Supported Pathways Facilitator
| Hours | 20-25 hours per week |

About this role
The Supported Pathways Facilitator helps people with additional needs, long-term conditions or other barriers to move closer to volunteering or entry-level employment.
The role provides structured one-to-one guidance, delivers small group sessions, and leads on the recruitment, induction and coordination of volunteer buddies.
Using supported volunteering and supported employment approaches, the postholder helps individuals build confidence, gain practical skills and take steady, meaningful steps into roles that suit their strengths. The role works with noticeable independence day-to-day, while following established programme frameworks and working closely with the Assistant Manager where needed.

Content & Digital Media Officer

About this role

To strengthen the visibility and impact of Communities 1st by producing high-quality digital content that showcases our work and inspires people to take part in the activities and services we offer. The postholder will guide staff and volunteers on capturing strong imagery and short-form video, edit and prepare polished content for social media and promotional materials, and ensure our digital communications are accurate, engaging and well-presented. They will also edit departmental eNewsletters and ensure contact information in the CRM is accurate and up to date so communications reach the right audiences.
This role is hands-on, creative and fast-moving, with a focus on showing real people, real experiences and the difference our work makes.

Learning & Engagement Officer

About this role
The Learning and Engagement Officer supports voluntary and community organisations to strengthen their skills, connections and visibility. The role combines the coordination of training and learning opportunities, voluntary sector networks and forums, and the operational delivery of communications that promote engagement and shared learning across the sector.
The post holder will play a key role in developing accessible training, encouraging collaboration across local organisations, and ensuring that information and opportunities are well promoted and easy to access.

Community Minibus Driver

About this role
Communities 1st provides a trusted transport service that helps residents who face mobility barriers to reach essential services, activities and appointments. The Driver plays a key part in maintaining a dependable, safe and welcoming service for older people, disabled people, and others who would otherwise struggle to travel. We are looking for someone who takes pride in high standards, enjoys working with people, and is committed to delivering transport that is safe, reliable and supportive. This role combines vehicle operation, customer care and day-to-day service delivery.
The role ensures that residents who face mobility barriers can travel safely and comfortably by operating our 16-seater accessible minibuses and equivalent vehicles. You will support passengers with a range of needs, uphold high safety standards, and help maintain a warm, reliable and trusted service.

Community Transport Minibus Driver

About this role
Communities 1st runs Shopper Bus services, day trips and transport to and from social fun clubs. Working for the community as a Community Transport Minibus Driver for our Community Transport Scheme, you will provide a valuable service for our elderly and/or disabled members of the public who request transport from door to door. Many of our clients require assistance and therefore drivers need to be physically fit with a caring personality. If you like driving and have caring nature and want to be part of a growing transport team this role could be for you!
The role is based primarily in Hertsmere, Three Rivers, Watford and Welwyn and Hatfield districts, although you may be required to work throughout the county of Hertfordshire.

Cleaner / Caretaker

About this role
The role of the Cleaner / Caretaker role is to provide a comprehensive cleaning service at the Community Centres managed by Communities 1st and to provide occasional holiday cover for office cleaning at Ver House.
The successful applicant will be required to open and close the community centre for occasional hirers as required both during the week and at weekends. Regular hirers of the centres have their own keys and do not need this service.
