Para Dance UK- Update for Instructors

Thanks to Communities 1st we are able to continue our important mission of providing dance opportunities for disabled and non-disabled people of all ages and abilities, upholding our most important message that #EveryoneCanDance.

The union of our two organisations means we will be able to give strength and sustainability to our work in a way that enables us to move forward for a more positive, exciting and enduring outcome.

As Para Dance instructors you are an integral part of our journey. We hope that you will continue to be the voice of what we do within your own dancing communities and continue to do what you do best, supporting those you care about, and enabling them to explore the joys of dance in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

We want to support you both personally and professionally and to enable us to do this we want to hear what you have to say, so that we can meet your needs in the best way possible. Together we can achieve more positive impact, spreading the word of the benefits of inclusive dance.

MEMBERSHIP

We are looking at the current membership offer and how we can improve this for you so you have access to relevant and a valuable assets for your professional practice comprising all the benefits you would expect from a membership with Para Dance UK.

As before this will include Public Liability Insurance which is in place for you right now so you can be safe in the knowledge that your inclusive dance tuition activities are covered.

Included in your membership there will also be frequent newsletters where we would love to include your stories, promote your events, classes or new start-up businesses or maybe you just have something heart-warming or important to share with your fellow instructors. Whatever it is we want to hear it!

We are working hard to restart some of our services with immediate effect. The first of these are our successful online inclusive dance sessions for both adults and children and the IDT training.

We’ve got our eye on several prospective projects for the coming year that we hope we will include you, our Para Dance instructors, especially if you are interested in potential contractual work.

Contractual Work and CPD

We’re aiming to maintain high standards and assure the quality of our services for the benefit of all of our clients, and  representatives of the Para Dance UK brand.  With this in mind, for those who are interested in contractual work we will be introducing a system where all instructors will be expected to attend an annual online CPD course so that together we can ensure we’re keeping our practice current, fresh and consistently high standard delivering a united positive message. During this annual meet up there will also be an opportunity to have a more informal discussion as like minded, professional people to exchange suggestions/ideas and raise any concerns.

Para Dance UK Sport

As we navigate this new partnership with Communities 1st and determine a compelling offer from Para Dance UK for all people who love to dance, there are advanced conversations taking place as to the future of Para Dance Sport and hosting arrangements for the National Governing Body. We are doing all we can to ensure a sustainable future is secured for this important work and we will inform you as soon as there are any further developments in this area.

Looking to the Future

As I am sure you can imagine there is a lot to do and we want to make sure that we achieve a higher level of quality for our services the ever before so please bear with us whilst we navigate through these initial few months.

We hope that you are as excited as we are about the next chapter. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working towards a more positive future for Para Dance UK and all concerned.
