Volunteering Opportunity: Art Work Tutor with Ware Road Day Service

We are looking for people who have a skill or hobby that they are willing to deliver to a group of young people. This could be anything from cooking, beauty, gardening, sewing ,chess, art and craft etc. that person would then share their enthusiasm with a group of children in an after school session. There would be some initial training and support for planning and organising the sessions. The time of the after- school club is 3.15-4.30pm from Monday to Friday. To work with other members of the team to provide a stimulating, caring environment where children feel welcome, and are happy and safe. To work with other members of the team to provide a range of stimulating creative activities. To accompany children from surrounding schools on the minibus, or helping with the walking bus, following designated procedures to ensure their safety at all times.

Practical Considerations: Work will be based in after school clubs in the Cheshunt/Waltham Cross area. This will be a good opportunity to gain experience of working in childcare.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Full Description:
Enthusiasm and skill for a particular hobby/interest. Ability to work with children and confident to work on their own with a group. May particularly suit someone who is looking to work in childcare. Be able to provide consistent care. Have mental and physical fitness to care for children Have a current CRB check, this could be provided by the school but a commitment of a number of weeks would be required - not necessarily daily. Volunteers need to live within a 2 mile radius of the centre.
