Full Description:
The four street planters have been commissioned by
Leecliffe Big Local, in partnership with Hertsmere Borough Counci. The funding was allocated to renovate four large raised planting beds located at the junction of Leeming Road and Aycliffe Road. The planters were in a state of disrepair and required significant improvements. The project aims to enhance the local area's aesthetics and safety. We have been able to revitalise the planting beds and contribute to the overall safety and beauty of the community.

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy gardening including digging, weeding, planting, watering and general garden maintenance. Volunteers will need to have their own gardening tools and be able to get rid of the gardening waste.
The volunteers will have access to water at some of the allocated shops.
The volunteers are free to look after the planters when they see fit as long as they remain well-kept throughout the year.
When in need of new shrubs or plants, the volunteer will contact the Leecliffe Big Local's Volunteer Coordinator who will arrange to bring some.

By volunteering at the Street Planters Project, you will be supporting the local residents, shopkeepers and community to live and work in an enhanced environment, promoting good visual and sensory benefits.
A nice environment can promote good mental health and a good community spirit.

As a volunteer, you will be supported by the Leecliffe Big Local's Volunteer Coordinator, and on occasions with other organisations.
