The Salvation Army Harpenden are looking for Cafe Assistants to help out at our Toddler Cafe. We are looking for volunteers to volunteer one morning a week which can be flexible across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Practical Considerations: Ideally 8.30am to 12.30pm

To work one morning a week Flexible across three Mornings Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to cover for each other.

Position is School Term Times Only and closed on bank holidays

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Full Description:
Tasks Include:

• Will be expected to use mobile phone and card reader for
payments (training given)
• To take Orders
• To take food and drink to tables
• To clear and clean tables
• To clear floor of spillages
• To be able to carry hot drinks from adjacent room down 8
steps.
• To be able to help at the end to clean tables and chairs,
sweep or hoover floors and help put away toys and other
items.
• Take Rubbish and place in appropriate bins outside.

What we are looking for:

• Must like talking to adults and be able to engage with
Toddlers
• Must be aware of child safety issues and appropriately
handle unexpected situations.
• Must be Friendly and approachable
• Needs to be reliable as the café opening may depend
upon them being there.
• Training will be given in relation to basic food hygiene
practices and other health and safety policies.
