Volunteers' Week 2024

What is Volunteers' Week?

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Volunteers' Week, a celebration which starts on the first Monday in June every year, to recognise, celebrate and thank the nation's incredible volunteers! Volunteers do such wonderful work in our communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole.

This year, from Monday 3 - Friday 7 June, we're hosting celebration events, sharing our volunteers' and member organisations volunteer experiences, and saying thank you to everyone who works to support us in the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

The Work of Our Wonderful Volunteers

We value every person who volunteers their time for Communities 1st. Volunteering roles are diverse and spanning various skill sets such as driving, crafting, gardening, and more!

"I have spent a lifetime's experience in the construction trade and am quite willing to lend a hand to support those who struggle with small Handyperson chores."

We take volunteering seriously. If you are taking time out of your day to help us, we want to be there to support you.

"Everyone [at Communities 1st] was very friendly... If you had any worries, they were always there to help."
Claire, Communities 1st volunteer.
