We're approaching the end of a meaningful month and are excited about all the opportunities that the awareness campaigns will carry along in April.
World Bipolar Day is celebrated each year on 30 March, the birthday of Vincent Van Gogh, who was diagnosed with bipolar after he died. The vision of World Bipolar Day is to encourage understanding about what bipolar is – and isn't – and to banish stigma from the face of the planet.
We would like to remind you that on Wednesday 27th March Communities1st will attend the "Man, You’re a Lifesaver", a free event inviting men to have conversations about their health and wellbeing.
There will be more than 15 stalls offering advice, information and guidance, such as Prostate Cancer UK, InspireAll and Healthy Hubs.
The free event (no need to book) will be held in Allum Hall (Borehamwood). Come to see us there!
Communities 1st is delighted to announce that a photograph of our canine volunteer Beau has been shortlisted for the British Photography Awards' Mobile Photography Awards 2024! The photo was captured by Lucy from the Communications team to be used in promotional materials to advertise our Shopper Bus service. You can find out more here
Remember that Daylight Saving Time occurs on Sunday 31st March when clocks go forward by one hour at 1am!
Wishing a Happy and colourful Holi to anyone celebrating it!
Stay safe and have a lovely weekend!
