International Recruits

All about the International Recruits project

Our International Recruits come to the UK to work in the health and social care sector.

Recruits are paired with a Volunteer Buddy who acts as a social point of contact in helping the recruit settle into life in the UK. Recruits and their Buddies will often go for a coffee, go for a leisurely walk around the local area, or meet to discuss local services. Buddies may also help the recruit with the process of finding permanent accommodation.

Volunteer with International Recruits

Do you want to become a volunteer?

We are looking for Buddies, Guides, and Drivers to help us support the recruits.

Buddies and Guides

Your job will be to show the recruit around, share the culture, and provide them with support. Our Buddies and Guides have supported recruits to:

  • Find the best cafes for a cup of tea
  • Find a permanent home
  • Use our public transport for the first time.

The role is varied and exciting. Often volunteers become good friends with recruits.

Minibus Drivers

Could you help us offer day trips to England's tourist attractions? Volunteer as a minibus driver and help us to offer day trips to destinations such as Cambridge, Oxford, Peterborough, and Southend.
