About The Role:

The role of the Cleaner / Assistant Caretaker role is to provide a comprehensive cleaning and setup service at the Community Centres managed by Communities 1st. The successful applicant will be required to open and close the community centres for occasional hirers as required both during the week and at weekends. Ensure that Health & Safety issues and licensing requirements are strictly adhered to. To inspect the interior & exterior of the building for general cleanliness on a daily basis. A weekly check must also be conducted for any defects & malfunctioning equipment. Make good any defects where appropriate or report to the Caretaker/Community Assets Facilitator as soon as possible so that repairs can be arranged. The Cleaner / Assistant Caretaker must be able to manage their time effectively familiarising themselves with weekly work logs and plan duties around building user requirements.

About The Role:

The Business Strategy and Programmes Manager will provide a lead on service development and business development opportunities for Communities 1st including developing new project proposals, organisational systems and procedures and maintaining oversight of Communities 1st’s portfolio of contracted activities to ensure contract reporting compliance.  The role will be responsible for the media relations, marketing, communication and financial management functions within our charity..

The Volunteer Development Project Coordinator will have a leading role in the planning and coordination of Communities 1st’s volunteering services, including developing and shaping volunteering opportunities, recruiting and deploying volunteers, A key part of the role will be helping manage a programme of change and assisting in the co-ordination of services across the Hertfordshire and wider afield..

About The Role:

Communities 1st are seeking an enthusiastic nutritionist, chef or food technology teacher to deliver a sessional cookery programme, which aims to teach families how to cook healthily on a budget. The ideal candidate will have appropriate qualifications and experience of teaching cookery skills to small groups.
