If you wish to take your first steps towards volunteering, this one hour Teams session will aim to answer the how, where, when, why and what of volunteering. The session will cover an understanding of volunteering and its roles, volunteering with benefits, researching volunteering roles and identifying skills. This online session is for anybody who is looking to embark on their volunteering journey.

Dr Shanta Everington has a background in the voluntary sector, working for a range of charities on the frontline and in management. With a PhD in Life Writing, Shanta tutors with The Open University and has facilitated various projects with the RLF. As an RLF Writing for Life Fellow, she is passionate about the power of story in crafting compelling fundraising pitches, case studies and reports, and supporting participants in using reflective writing to enhance professional practice. She is the author of Another Mother: Creating and Curating Voices of Adoption, Surrogacy and Egg Donation and Storying the Menopause: An Evocative Auto/ethnography with Routledge.
Everyone has to write them, and most of us dread it. But you don’t need to! This workshop gives your report writing a re-boost and refresh, with a secret, simple structural tool you’ll be delighted to discover.
Through writing exercises and discussion, you will discover how to organise information and approach the different stages of producing a report from initial ideas to final draft.
