Thank You Volunteers at Batchwood Hall Vaccination Centre
As Batchwood Vaccination Centre prepares to close its doors we would like to thank our incredible volunteers, who have provided 8,975 hours of crucial support to the clinical staff there. The centre has gained a reputation for its warm, friendly and efficient team of volunteers, who have helped in a variety of roles, from directing and registering patients, to handing out PPE, to distributing information to those receiving the vaccine.
The volunteers have shared their thoughts and experiences at the Batchwood vaccination centre:
“Volunteering at Batchwood is like being part of a big team helping those attending getting their jabs.” – Jason (Batchwood volunteer)
“It has been a brilliant experience - even the freezing, rainy or snowy days early on! Extremely well organised and run, with really friendly teams.” - Jacquie (Batchwood volunteer)
“There is a real community feel within the dedicated teams at Batchwood. It’s a positive and rewarding experience.” – Jane (Batchwood volunteer)
Communities 1st’s volunteers helped Batchwood centre gain national recognition for its efficiency. Mr Hancock praised the speedy vaccine roll-out, saying this was: “down to the tireless efforts of all those involved, especially those on the ground in our communities”
The volunteers have been incredibly good-humoured, and have kept smiling through wind, rain and even snow! Several clients have remarked on how helpful and friendly the volunteers were, making the vaccination process smooth and efficient.
You can now book or bring forward your vaccination through the National Booking System here, or visit one of the walk-in vaccination clinics happening across Hertfordshire. Details of walk-in clinics are available here. If you do not have access to the internet, then you can dial 119.
CEO of Communities 1st, Stephen Craker, said:
“Despite the current reduction of vaccination centres, our Volunteer Centre is still looking for volunteers to support a variety of local organisations and projects. If you have a free couple of hours and would like to volunteer, please get in contact.”
