Volunteering Opportunity: Conservation Volunteer with Celtic Harmony

Join Celtic Harmony Camp’s conservation team in ancient Hertfordshire woodland. Help preserve Britain’s prehistoric heritage by caring for the site and learning traditional skills like wattle fencing and coppicing. No experience needed—just enthusiasm for nature and outdoor work. Flexible: Mondays/Thursdays, 10am–4pm.

Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

District: Broxbourne, East Herts, Hertsmere, North Herts, St Albans, Stevenage, Welwyn/Hatfield

Location: Indoor, Outdoor

Time of day: Weekday Mornings, Weekday Afternoons

Practical Considerations: You will be working outdoors. Suitable clothing and shoes for weather conditions is needed.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS), Own vehicle or access to a vehicle

Requirements (additional): Will require trial and full induction day.

Full Description:
Our skilled conservation team need help to conserve the natural habitats of Bourne Wood and maintain access facilities for visitors. Activities vary from conservation work such as woodland management to wattle fencing to working on the herb garden. Gain traditional craft and conservation skills, meet new people and spend time outdoors in the relaxing, friendly environment of Celtic Harmony Camp.
