Volunteering Opportunity: Volunteer Minibus Drivers with Jersey Farm Day Care Centre

Jersey Farm Day Centre meets every Tuesday during school term time, between 10.30am -3.00 pm and provides companionship and activities together with a hot lunch and refreshments to elderly people living alone and independently in the locality. The Day Centre is manned by a group of approximately fifteen volunteers and is based at Jersey Farm Community Centre in St Albans.

Practical Considerations: A basic DBS is required which the day centre will pay for.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS), Driving licence, Can drive a minibus

Full Description:
Volunteer Driver (1 1/2 hours in the morning and 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon)

Must be over 21 years of age and must have held a driving licence for at least 2 years. Drivers are required to collect the minibus from designated pick up point, collect clients from their home and bring them to Jersey Farm Community Centre from 10:30am. At 3pm drivers are required to take clients home and return minibus. We use a minibus provided by Roundabout Transport. The minibus is equipped with a wheelchair lift.
There are always two volunteer helpers manning the minibus in addition to the driver.
