Volunteering Opportunity: General Volunteer with Jersey Farm Day Care Centre

Jersey Farm Day Centre meets every Tuesday during school term time, between 10.30am -3.00 pm and provides companionship and activities together with a hot lunch and refreshments to elderly people living alone and independently in the locality. The Day Centre is manned by a group of approximately fifteen volunteers and is based at Jersey Farm Community Centre in St Albans.

Practical Considerations: A basic DBS is required which the day centre will pay for.

Full Description:
Volunteers are required to help set up the hall from 10:30am. During the day they will interact with the clients and help with morning Tea/Coffee. At lunchtime we serve clients a hot two course meal. Volunteers then help with the washing up on a rota basis. In the afternoon we have various forms of entertainment during which clients may require some help. Clients return home at 3pm and volunteers will be required to help with clearing the hall.
