Volunteering Opportunity: Community Supermarket Volunteer with Communities 1st

Are you passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in your community? The Hertfordshire Community Supermarket, delivered by Community Help Hertfordshire, is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team! We need enthusiastic individuals to assist with various tasks during 4-hour shifts, either in the morning or the afternoon.

Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

District: Broxbourne, Dacorum, East Herts, Hertsmere, North Herts, St Albans, Stevenage, Three Rivers, Watford, Welwyn/Hatfield

Location: Indoor, Outdoor

Time of day: Weekday Mornings, Weekday Afternoons, To Be Discussed

Whether you can spare a few hours in the morning or the afternoon, your contribution will make a significant difference. All out-of-pocket expenses will be paid (travel).

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Suitable for: 16 – 17 year olds, 18 – 25 year olds, Aged 26 and over, University students, Older People

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Food Poverty, Nutrition & Food Banks , Older People, Poverty Relief - Domestic, Retail, Voluntary & Community Action

Full Description:
What You'll Do:

• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers, including
vulnerable individuals, ensuring they have a positive
shopping experience

• Stock Management: Help with stocking and organising
products on shelves, ensuring everything is in its place

• Community Outreach: Engage with the community,
spreading awareness about our services and collecting
feedback to improve our offerings

• Checkout Assistance: Assist with checkout and handling
transactions, making the process smooth and efficient

• Setup and Pack Down: Support in setting up and packing
away the stock, ensuring everything runs smoothly

• Hygiene and Cleanliness: Ensure the hygiene and
cleanliness of the supermarket, creating a safe
environment for everyone.

Locations We Need Volunteers:

We are looking for volunteers from Hertsmere, Stevenage, North Herts, Dacorum, East Herts, Broxbourne, Welwyn Hatfield, St Albans, Watford and Three Rivers.
