Red Trust Bushey is looking for friendly and compassionate volunteers to help support our local community through our busy Food Bank. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role by preparing and providing food parcels, offering warm refreshments, and most importantly taking the time to listen to and support visitors who may be going through difficult moments. If you’re someone who cares about making a real difference and can offer a welcoming smile and an empathetic ear, we’d love to have you join our team. Your time could bring comfort, dignity, and practical help to those who need it most.

Full Description:
Food Store: To manage food coming in and out of the food store ensuring all food is date checked, with the date written on the items, date rotated i.e soonest expiry dates at the front of the shelves and used first, and that the store is tidy and clear of slip and trip hazards.


Welcome: Greet visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner. The Phoenix Centre is a safe space where anyone can come for a hot drink and listening ear.


Confidentiality: Ensure all shared information is kept confidential, respecting the privacy of individuals. Ensure you are confident who to go to with concerns.


Active Listening: Offer undivided attention and genuine empathy to individuals sharing their concerns or experiences. Provide emotional support and positive reinforcement to help individuals feel heard and understood.


Training: Volunteers are expected to engage with all training as required.
