We are looking for a group of volunteers to help bring junior parkrun to Borehamwood.

By bringing junior parkrun to Borehamwood, partners are aiming to create a welcoming, community-led activity that removes barriers to participation and encourages families to be active together. The event is delivered by volunteers and is part of the wider parkrun movement, which has become a popular way for communities across the UK to connect through physical activity.

With its inclusive format and regular weekly schedule, the new junior parkrun is expected to become a key feature of the local activity offer, supporting healthier lifestyles and stronger community connections in Borehamwood. Local organisers are encouraging families, schools and community groups to get involved, whether by taking part, volunteering,

The event takes place at Meadow Park, Borehamwood, WD6 5HQ.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Remit:

• Ensures simple, safe and sustainable delivery of weekly event in line with polices and procedures and with respect for our rules.

• Develops a core team and creates a positive team culture where volunteers flourish.

• Facilitates the growth of the local community.

• Develops and maintains positive relationships and active communications with parkrun HQ, Ambassadors and other stakeholders.

• In conjunction with HQ responds appropriately to any incidents and assist in local level dispute resolution.

Experience and skills required;

• Demonstrates a positive attitude and acts as a great role model.

• Speaks with confidence, authority and sensitivity, without causing intentional offence or upset.

• Ability to form positive relationships with people from all backgrounds.

• Is approachable and open to ideas and change.

• Ability to delegate and share information and responsibilities

• Ability to respond to challenging situations/communications in a thoughtful, considered and calm manner.

• Can maintain discretion and confidentiality.

• Is well organised and can work independently with minimum supervision.
