Full Description:
We are a new local support group providing weekly activities and support to those suffering with memory loss, diagnosed or not. We serve refreshments, and chat to our guests, offering help if required. We need 3 people to help with set up/take down the hall, serving drinks and chatting.
We are looking for people who can join our team of helpers, who are compassionate, friendly and looking for an opportunity to help people. By making our guests lives more fun, through social activities we book from outside agencies. We provide paper games/challenges, like wordsearches, picture identifying, music recognition etc.
We provide opportunities for our guests and carers to find support, chat to like-minded people, and have a change of environment. We encourage our volunteers to participate in these activities as much as they feel able.
Our group is friendly and intimate, and varies between 15 and 20 people currently.
We ask carers to stay with their companions, and we do not offer transport or personal care.
Come and join us, for fun, lively activities tailored to ability, and a sense of developing our community, in an inclusive and diverse, established group.
