Para Dance UK Update

In October 2023 Communities 1st welcomed Para Dance UK that brought in an inspiring element of inclusive dance, championing the values of inclusion, accessibility, and participation for all, irrespective of ability.
Together we have created a series of courses suitable for a wide range of people, from those using dance as part of their activities with disabled people to students of Primary and Secondary schools.
Communities 1st, a dedicated champion of community development and inclusivity, is delighted to announce a significant step in our mission to empower individuals and communities. We have undertaken the responsibility to secure and advance the vital work of Para Dance UK, merging our strengths, resources, and dedication to empower and unite communities.
As Para Dance UK continues to grow and evolve, CEO Patrick McGeough has made the difficult decision to step down from his position. Emma Millward, Head of Dance and Lin McGeough, Operations Manager have also decided to step down.
Para Dance UK are proud to be partnering with This Girl Can and will be launching our #ThisGirlCanDance sessions starting week commencing 17th of January 2022.
This Girl Can was originally launched in 2015 and was aimed at encouraging more women to take part in physical activity. The campaign has successfully persuaded nearly 3 million women to get active and the mission is to get many more involved.
SEND Schools shine bright in a virtual celebration as the winners of Para Dance UK’s Youth Games Dance Competition are announced.
Excitement was in the air on Thursday 16th December 2021 as over 100 children from SEND schools came together virtually for the very first time, eagerly awaiting to hear who the winners of Para Dance UK’s Youth Games Dance Competition 2021 are and where their groups had placed.
