Full Description:
Help shape the future of DS Achieve and make a lasting difference to children, young people and families.

DS Achieve is a growing Hertfordshire charity supporting children and young people with Down Syndrome, their families and the professionals who support them. We are looking for new Trustees to join our friendly and committed Board and bring their skills, experience and ideas to help us continue to develop.

What will you do?

As a Trustee, you will help provide strategic direction and good governance, ensuring DS Achieve continues to deliver high-quality services and meets the needs of the families we support.

You will contribute to Board discussions and decision-making, help oversee the charity's plans and finances, and use your skills and experience to support the charity's development. As a small charity, there may also be opportunities to get involved in specific projects or initiatives where your expertise can make a real difference.

Who are we looking for?

We welcome people from a range of backgrounds and experiences. We are particularly interested in people with:

Previous Trustee, Chair or Treasurer experience
Professional services experience, such as finance, HR, legal, marketing or business
Experience of charity governance or strategic leadership
Lived experience as a parent of a younger child with Down Syndrome

You don't need to have been a Trustee before if you have relevant skills, experience and a genuine interest in helping DS Achieve achieve its aims.

Time commitment

Board meetings are held online once every half term, with one in-person strategy day each year. The standard Trustee term is three years.

This is a voluntary role, with reasonable expenses covered.

If you would like to use your skills and experience to help shape the future of DS Achieve, we would love to hear from you.
