We would like to invite volunteers to participate in a large-scale emergency services training exercise at the Vicarage Road Football Stadium on 12 November 2026.
The exercise will help police, fire, ambulance and partner organisations practice responding to a major incident. They are looking for volunteer support.
Communities 1st volunteers are invited to participate by acting as members of the public involved in the simulated incident. Your participation helps emergency services test evacuation procedures, communication, coordination and the management of people during a major event.
This is a training exercise only and no real emergency will take place.
Volunteers can expect to take part in different simulated activities throughout the day. These may include:
- Being in the stadium as part of the simulated crowd
- Following instructions from emergency services staff
- Taking part in a staged evacuation from the stadium
- Moving to designated safe areas or holding locations
- Providing feedback to organisations
To find out more about what to expect on the day, read the attached volunteer role profile here.
We will be releasing more information about the activity start and end times nearer to the event date.
