PAT Tester

About the opportunity

Are you a bit techy?   We're looking for someone who can sort, collate and PAT test electrical goods on our and other charity organisations premises.

After the appropriate training you will be carrying out a Portable Appliance Test on electrical items to ensure that they are safe.  This is a combination of a rigorous visual and physical inspection and then testing the appliance with an easy to use BattPAT Tester which will be provided.

What training and support will you be given?

No previous experience is required, training is delivered through a DVD Powerpoint presentation and takes about 3 hours to fully complete followed by a short online multiple choice test.  This can all be done at the volunteers own pace and the test can be completed with the aid of all the learning materials supplied by the Training Provider.

About the Organisation

Since being created in 2009 from a merger of two community organisations within Hertsmere, Communities 1st has grown into a successful charitable organisation with strong links to the communities in which we work.

Communities 1st aims to develop and promote a healthier and more thriving community by supporting and enabling people to become more actively involved in the community.  We encourage individual volunteering and support groups working to achieve benefits for our community.
