Herts Vision Loss are looking for Admin voluneters to help support their team. They are a Hertfordshire‑wide charity that supports blind and visually impaired people by reducing isolation through home visits, befriending, and social clubs; providing information, equipment advice, and emotional support—including their Ears for Eyes counselling service; offering assistance in hospital eye clinics and carrying out statutory sight‑impairment assessments; and helping people build confidence, independence, and employment skills.Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

Full Description:
• Meeting and greeting clients at our Centre in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answering the telephone, dealing with any immediate queries, and passing on messages to the relevant member of staff.
• Making calls to clients who are part of our Sight Life groups or who may need an initial assessment by our Vision Loss Advice Team.
• Sending letters on behalf of the team to clients, suppliers, and others.
• Monitoring our “info” email account, replying to messages, and passing on queries to the relevant member of staff.
• Setting up diary dates for staff meetings and other relevant meetings between staff and external people.
• Carrying out talks with the Network Coordinator, helping
the charity to engage with the local community.
• Assist ordering general stationery and office supplies required by the team on a regular basis.
• Using and updating our ACT database with client and survey information.
• Attending social activities and assisting the Community Engagement Officer when required.
• Offering advice and guidance (once trained) to people dropping into our Centre.
