Our IT services are essential and increasingly evolving to meet changes and expectations in a digital era to advise the Board, implement and support the IT services to enable St Albans Community Bank to deliver its mission as efficiently as possible (excludes website which is managed by Marketing)

Practical Considerations: The applicant should live or work in Hertfordshire and be able to demonstrate career experience working within an IT Manager or similar role- preferably in a financial services environment.

The applicant will need to be able to understand the regulatory framework. They will need to be able to interpret this to a range of interested parties.

Requirements: Relevant qualification or training, Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Full Description:
Key Responsibiities and Activities

• Advise the Board on IT strategy and oversee core IT
services for the Community Bank ensuring a secure and
compliant environment.

• Negotiate and maintain support contracts with
companies that supply our hardware and software:
PCs/server, core credit union applications, broadband, any
new applications eg Sercle App, printers and troubleshoot
and resolve any issues.

• Support staff/volunteers in using these services and good
practice, including IT security and remote working
requirements; on boarding.

• Document key IT processes and keep these under review
for improvement and to ensure compliance

• Accountable for Data Protection activities and advise the
CB on relevant cyber security matters

• Propose cost effective solutions/ IT projects which will
assist and address expectations of the Community Bank’s
external and internal customers and streamline our
processes (within the constraints of resources), and
implement agreed projects eg moving to cloud based.

• Work with and manage IT Projects Officer and work with
other relevant functions to plan and deliver projects as
well as to ensure essential.

Experience and Skills that you need Practical, hands-on; experience of managing and supporting IT hardware and software applications and supporting customers and internal employees.

Confident communicator, able to explain how our IT systems work and provide guidance for internal volunteers on our applications and to share ideas with the Board and 3rd parties.

Working with 3rd party suppliers re maintenance of existing and supporting the scope and installing new product applications.

Experienced user of Windows 7,8,10,11), MS Office products, Project Management skills and experience, mobile communications, Cloud based services, Office365, VOIP.

Sound understanding of data protection including GDPR and other cyber security.

Teamworking skills approachable, shares knowledge, self-starter; able to work independently.

Experience of financial services sector (desirable).
