The Green House is a hub of ideas in the centre of St Albans City where people can come and connect to find out ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

Practical Considerations: We would love to hear from anyone interested in volunteering. Roles and responsibilities are very varied and it is possible to volunteer for as little as 2 hours a month.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Suitable for: 18 – 25 year olds, Aged 26 and over, University students, Older People

Full Description:
We are looking for friendly hub volunteers to greet people, help them find some answers to their environmental questions and to keep the hub looking welcoming. All volunteers will be supported in their roles and will be shown how to easily source information at the hub.

Roles include:

General Hub Volunteer Duties:

· Help create a friendly and welcoming space for people to meet and connect

· Measure footfall and keep a record of conversation themes

· Help people sign up for the eco library and keep records up to date

· Serve and take payments for drinks and light snacks

· Monitor and maintain the specialist recycling schemes

Communications Volunteer:

(all or some of the following roles can apply)

· Develop our social media and post updates for The Green House

· Help with the running and maintenance of our website

· Monitor the activity of other eco hubs for information purposes

· Help with creating up to date displays


Community Liaison Volunteers:

(again, all or some of the following apply)

· Liaise with school eco councils and nurture our relationship

· Connect with local businesses, organisations and groups to encourage use of the hub space and support for events etc

· Help to plan and run upcoming events etc

· Help with fundraising initiatives
