Join The James Foundation as a Trustee and help shape the future of a charity supporting families affected by baby loss. In this voluntary role, you’ll provide strategic guidance, ensure good governance, and help us make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

We’re looking for committed individuals with skills in leadership, finance, governance, or charity management, who can contribute time, insight, and energy to our board. You’ll be part of a supportive, compassionate team, gain valuable governance experience, and play a key role in advancing a vital cause.

Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

District: Broxbourne, East Herts, Epping Forest, Harlow

Location: From your office, From home, Online

Time of day: Casual or Intermittent

Practical Considerations: Time Commitment: 4–6 board meetings per year, plus occasional subcommittee work or events; approx. 5–10 hours/month.

Location: Mainly remote, with occasional in-person meetings or events.

Legal Duties: Trustees must act in the charity’s best interests and comply with charity law and financial regulations.

Eligibility: Must be 18+ and not disqualified from acting as a trustee; conflicts of interest should be declared.

Support & Training: Induction, ongoing guidance, and access to training and sector resources.


Term: Typically a 3-year term, with possible reappointment.
