Our Community Learning Course Administrator means Volunteer will support the Community Learning Project team by assisting with administrative data recording after learning sessions have been delivered. This role is suitable for a British Sign Language (BSL) user who would like to gain office-based experience and contribute to an inclusive community initiative.Working alongside our Community Learning Administrator, the volunteer will input statistical information retrieved from our CRM system into spreadsheets and/or word documents, following a simple weekly sequence of steps. After full training, the volunteer will be able to work independently, with support available as and when needed.

Practical Considerations: Location: Ver House Offices, Frogmore, St Albans (Office-based, 1 day per week)
No formal qualifications or prior administrative experience are required to volunteer with us.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and abilities.
Full induction and ongoing training will be provided, including BSL interpreter support and training materials.
References will be required from applicants and will be taken up.
Volunteers must be over 16 (or accompanied by an adult if under 16).
A minimum six-month commitment is required.

Full Description:
Key responsibilities include:
• Entering attendance and course data from our CRM system into Excel or Word documents.
• Following a step-by-step data entry process on a weekly basis.
• Maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in handling participant information.
• Communicating effectively with staff and volunteers, supported by a BSL interpreter if required.
• Reporting any data issues or discrepancies to the Community Learning Administrator.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Basic computer literacy, particularly Excel and Word.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
• Reliable, organised, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently after initial training.
• Commitment to confidentiality and data protection policies.
Training and Support Provided:
• Full step-by-step training with the support of a BSL interpreter.
• Access to training guides and written instructions.
• Ongoing supervision and support from Communities 1st staff.
