Are you a kind, caring person? Are you looking to become a volunteer to provide support for people living with Dementia? Then why not join our Dementia Fun Clubs and become a part of our community. We have clubs based at our Jubilee Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.

The Jubilee Centre is a welcoming, inclusive community hub for older and disabled adults living in Hatfield and the surrounding areas. We run a range of activities every day, such as crafts, games, singing, quizzes, and we offer a hot two-course lunch as well. We are looking for more volunteers to help us with the smooth running of the activities in the hubs.

Practical Considerations: This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference and give back to the local community.

A free hot meal and drink will be provided + complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Full Description:
Responsibilities:

• Prepare the room in the morning for any of the days activities

• Greet clients upon arrival

• Prepare teas and coffees, water, and squash, throughout the day

• Serve food and drink choices during lunch hours

• Clean and sanitise areas

• Assist with games and quizzes throughout the day

• De-brief with the Activities Co-ordinator at the beginning and end of the day

• Engage with clients throughout the day

We are particularly looking for volunteers who have the following attributes:

Enthusiasm; motivation; a desire to learn; experience working with elderly people (desirable not essential); active listening skills; reliability and punctuality; a non-judgmental outlook.
