We are looking for volunteers to support our athletics coaches at St Albans Athletic Club. We have sessions on Tuesdays (6-7pm), Thursdays (6-9pm) and Sundays (10-12) and cater for all events. Younger athletes do a mix of all events in fun, games based sessions and older ones choose their events - Sprints, Middle Distance, High Jump, Long/ Triple, Jump, Javelin, Discus, Shot.Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

Practical Considerations: Helping coaches with young people (age 8 upwards) at St Albans Athletic Club. Interest in young people and sport (ideally athletics) required.
Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Full Description:
Basic knowledge of athletics is ideal, but a keenness to get involved is more important. Training courses can then be provided if want to progress.
You'll be enabling our young athletes to reach their potentials, in a club that caters for everyone, from absolute beginners, to Olympians! It's very rewarding, and you'd be helping facilitate young people to enjoy time away from screens!
Abbey View Community Athletics Track (AVCAT) was formed to run the Athletics facility in Verulamium Park, St Albans, following a decision by St Albans District Council to remove funding from the track. Our aim is to ensure that athletics is accessible to all in the district
