About Citizens Advice Broxbourne
Did you know that each local Citizens Advice is its own independent charity? We give free, confidential, and impartial advice to thousands of local residents every year, helping them navigate debt, benefits, housing, employment, and more.
We’re now looking for new Trustees to join our Board and help shape how we support our local community.
Who We’re Looking For
More than anything, we’re looking for people who care about helping others and making a positive impact locally.
No previous board or trustee experience is required—we welcome applicants of all ages and backgrounds, and provide full support and induction for first-time trustees.
If you have a background in areas like marketing & comms, business development, fundraising, finance, governance, or legal, that’s great, but it’s not a checklist. What matters most is your commitment to our work.
As in-person gatherings are local, living within about 30 minutes’ travel of Broxbourne (or having a strong connection to the area) is desirable.
What’s Involved
Time Commitment: Flexible & voluntary.
Meetings: 6 to 8 evening Board and subcommittee meetings a year (held online).
In-Person Gatherings: 2 to 3 times a year for local events, meeting volunteers, and our AGM.
Key Tasks: Contributing to discussions, setting strategic direction, and acting as an ambassador for our charity.
Why Join Us?
This is a rewarding role where you can share your skills, learn how a local charity operates, and directly help shape a service that makes a real difference to people’s lives across Broxbourne.
How to Apply
Interested? We’d love to start with an informal chat! We review interest on a rolling basis, so there is no fixed closing date.
