Full Description:
Herts Visual Arts CIC (HVA) is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit organisation focused on supporting and developing artists in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas, and on enriching the local community with increased access to visual arts. As a Community Interest Company, HVA needs to maintain detailed and meticulous financial records.
As Assistant to the Treasurer, you will help with reconciliation of day-to-day financial transactions to enable monitoring of expenditure against budgets and forecasts. You will also support the Treasurer with reporting of income and cash flow month on month, and with preparation of financial reports.
What will you do?
1. Provide bookkeeping support to the Treasurer.
2. Handle day to day reconciliation of finance information using Xero accounting software..
3. Collate financial data into business reports.
4. Seek, identify, explore and document information as requested by Treasurer
5. Identify and document suitable resources for HVA
6. Maintain financial information.
7. Conduct other financial research and support activities as required by Treasurer.
What are we looking for?
The Assistant to the Treasurer will ideally have:
• A sound understanding of finance and experience of accounting practices.
• Familiarity with Xero accounting software.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Access to a laptop and internet connection.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
Reports to: David Wye, Director & Treasurer, and to Shivani Mathur, Director & Chair
