Full Description:
The Wheathampstead Chapel Community Hub is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help prepare and cook meals in our monthly Community Kitchen which takes place on the last Tuesday of every month at the Chapel Halls in Wheathampstead at 6pm. We usually serve around 60 local people with a welcoming hot meal in a friendly atmosphere. The meal is offered on a ‘Pay what you can afford basis’.
What the role involves:
You will help prepare and cook a 2/3 course dinner for approximately 60 people, working alongside a supportive and experienced volunteer team complying to food hygiene and safety standards.
Time commitment:
o Main event day: Last Tuesday of each month
o Approx. 1pm – 7.30pm (dinner served at 6pm)
We looking for someone who:
• Can help prepare and cook 2/3 course dinners (with others)
o enjoys working with people
o is organised and dependable
o values community spirit and inclusion
Experience in catering or event organisation would be helpful but is not essential and would suit someone with a passion for cooking.
A Food Hygiene qualification would be ideal, although training can be provided.
