St Albans Good Neighbour Scheme provide a shopping service for their clients with that have no one to shop for them are no longer able to shop by themselves.

Practical Considerations: They would require contact details for the client’s next of kin, neighbour or friend, in case of an emergency.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Suitable for: 16 – 17 year olds, 18 – 25 year olds

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Older People, Retail

Full Description:
The details of the what the role would require you to do:

Done once a fortnight, at a mutually convenient time, by the allocated volunteer.

To only one supermarket.

For general food items only.

A clear and precise shopping list (size, brand etc) to be ready, with enough cash to pay for the requested items.

As an alternative to cash, the client can provide a pre-loaded store or gift card.

The receipt and change will be left with the shopping
Any donation will be gratefully received.

It may be possible to provide a temporary shopper, when the regular shopper is on holiday.
