Communities 1st has been invited to support a large-scale emergency services training exercise on 25 June. The exercise will help police, fire, ambulance and partner organisations practice responding to a major incident involving a large number of people. The event will take place at the Vicarage Road Stadium, Watford.Opportunity Type: One Off Commitment

Practical Considerations: This is only a training exercise. Medical cover will be available throughout the day.
Food will be provided, although it is usually basic so we suggest eating beforehand and bringing a bottle of water. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothing as you may spend time outside.
The day will begin with a briefing at 08:30 and is expected to finish around 15:30.

Full Description:
Volunteers are invited to participate by acting as members of the public involved in the simulated incident. Your participation helps emergency services test evacuation procedures, communication, coordination and the management of people during a major event.
This is a training exercise only and no real emergency will take place.
Volunteers can expect to take part in different simulated activities throughout the day. These may include:
Being present in the stadium as part of the simulated crowd
Following instructions from emergency services staff
Taking part in a staged evacuation from the stadium
Moving to designated safe areas or holding locations
Providing feedback to organisations
Taking part helps emergency services test their plans and improve how organisations work together during major incidents.
