Open Door St Albans
Our mission is to ensure no one in the St Albans area needs to sleep rough, and to empower those experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives.
The Charity supports the Open Door night shelter, which provides short term accommodation for 12 people. It funds a full time outreach worker; employs a coordinator who oversees the provision of meals and other support; and funds improvements and additional services.
It also manages the provision by volunteers of extra beds during the winter months (December- March). Liaising with the outreach service, guests are supported to find longer term accommodation.
The Charity focusses its efforts on fundraising to support and develop these homelessness services, and recruiting new volunteers.
