The Craft Room

The Craft Room is all about bringing people together through creativity, kindness, and community spirit. Our goal is simple — to make sure everyone, no matter their situation, has the chance to take part in something fun, meaningful, and uplifting. We focus on supporting families, helping people feel connected, and using creativity to boost wellbeing.

At Breaks Manor Youth Centre, we run our free children’s holiday camps where kids can dive into a mix of crafts, sports, and fun activities. Every child also gets a hot, nutritious meal while they’re with us — because a full tummy makes for a happy, creative day! Many of the children who come along are from families who might not otherwise be able to afford clubs or activities, so it means a lot to be able to give them these experiences. Watching them grow in confidence, make new friends, and get stuck in with big smiles makes it all worth it.

For adults, we run free craft workshops at The Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City. These sessions are relaxed, welcoming, and open to everyone — whether you’re picking up a new hobby, looking to make friends, or just fancy a cuppa and a chat while getting creative.

We’re also proud to be part of the Community Spaces initiative, offering a cosy, friendly place where people can pop in, feel welcome, and enjoy a sense of community.

At The Craft Room, it’s not just about making things — it’s about making memories, building confidence, and helping people feel that they belong.
