Project Goliath
Core Purpose:
Project Goliath CIC is an educational and community outreach organization dedicated to empowering disengaged young people. Our core purpose is to bridge the "engagement gap" for the post-Covid generation by providing a practical, hands-on alternative to traditional classroom learning, fostering both technical mastery and social mobility.
To whom do you provide services:
We support vulnerable young people, Alternative Provision (AP) students, and those at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) within the local community.
What services or activities do you provide:
We deliver dynamic STEM and fabrication workshops where students physically build acoustic communication networks and engineering projects (such as mechanical transmission lines and acoustic horns). By replacing textbooks with tools, we teach applied physics, structural logic, and industrial safety. Our activities are designed to build confidence, teamwork, and practical skills through a structured, multi-tier certification program.
Where do you provide them:
Our primary base of operations is in Welwyn Garden City, with scalable outreach and "pop-up" workshops planned for community spaces and partner hubs across the Welwyn Hatfield district (including the Hatfield Hub).
Details of any regular meetings:
We conduct structured, hands-on workshop sessions that align with the school term for AP referrals, alongside ad-hoc community engagement events, planning meetings, and pop-up demonstrations in public spaces.
