If you have a valid driving license from another country and you have the documentation of proof, you may be able to drive on that license for up to 12 months from the date you arrived in the UK. If you have a Refugee Council caseworker, they can refer you to a course to help you pass the theory test. Herts Welcomes Refugees may make a one-off contribution to the cost of driving lessons once you have passed the theory test. Ask your Area Covenor about this.
