Youth Talk need event helpers to help us at local fundraising events.

Youth Talk are looking for a good communicator and someone who enjoys working in a team with new people. Above all you will need enthusiasm and stamina if able to join us for longer events.

Youth Talk is here to make sure young people in the St Albans District get the best possible mental health support. Our vision is that every young person can talk to someone , whatever is worrying them. by providing free, confidential counseling services delivered by qualified counsellors, we make sure everyone from 13-25 in the area can access this, whatever their background or circumstances.

Practical Considerations: Since many of the community events we attend are organised by external partners, we are not always able to make accessibility arrangements ourselves. However, we always work closely with venues and event organisers to ensure that our volunteers’ experiences are as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Requirements: Own vehicle or access to a vehicle

Requirements (additional): Our charity’s activities take place within the St Albans District, and as such volunteers need to be based locally to ensure they can easily access and participate in our community events.

Full Description:
Event Helpers support Youth Talk at community events, school fairs, business breakfasts, sports fixtures and local festivals.

Tasks vary by event but often include:
• Helping with set up
• Greeting visitors
• Sharing leaflets or merchandise
• Supporting simple fundraising activities, such as collecting donations
• Speaking to the public about who we are when approached
• Provide physical and logistical support to organisers


This role is flexible and ideal for people who want to volunteer occasionally. Full briefings and support are always provided.

Time commitment: Ad hoc. Most events last 4 to 6 hours, with options for shorter 2 to 3 hour shifts

Reporting to: Volunteer Lead
