Practical Considerations: Since many of the community events we attend are organised by external partners, we are not always able to make accessibility arrangements ourselves. However, we always work closely with venues and event organisers to ensure that our volunteers’ experiences are as accessible and inclusive as possible.
Requirements: Own vehicle or access to a vehicle
Requirements (additional): Our charity’s activities take place within the St Albans District, and as such volunteers need to be based locally to ensure they can easily access and participate in our community events.

Full Description:
Event Helpers support Youth Talk at a wide range of community events, including school fairs, business breakfasts, sports fixtures and local festivals. You will play a key role in helping us create welcoming, positive experiences while raising awareness and funds for our work.
*Tasks vary by event but often include*
• Helping with set up and pack down
• Greeting visitors and creating a friendly atmosphere
• Sharing leaflets or merchandise
• Supporting simple fundraising activities such as collecting donations
• Speaking to members of the public about Youth Talk when approached
• Providing general practical support to event organisers
*Time commitment*
This role is flexible and ideal for people who want to volunteer occasionally. Most events last between 4 to 6 hours, with some shorter 2 to 3 hour shifts available.

Youth Talk is a local charity providing free, confidential counselling to young people aged 13 to 25 in St Albans and surrounding areas. We offer a safe space where young people can talk openly about whatever is worrying them and get the support they need to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
