Volunteering Opportunity: Tennis Club Volunteers with Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC)

Hertsmere Borough Council and Lawn Tennis Association are looking for volunteers to help at the Tennis club in Borehamwood.

Time of day: Weekday Afternoons, Weekday Evenings, Weekend Half Days

Practical Considerations: • All Activators will complete a free, online training course
lasting approx. 2-3 hours which will include elements of
session content, organisation, safeguarding and
inclusion
• All new Activators must then complete one session
shadowing a coach or an existing Activator before
leading a session.
• Volunteer DBS check via the LTA site if an LTA DBS is not
already held

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Suitable for: 18 – 25 year olds, Aged 26 and over, University students, Families

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Health and Wellbeing, Social Activities, Sport, Activity & Outdoor Pursuits

Full Description:
The Role:

• You will be part of a small team volunteering to deliver
sessions weekly.

• Minimum of 2 Activators will be required to run each
session

• Will be responsible for completing registers on the
ClubSpark platform and directing "Walk Ins" to this site for
registration.

• Help with ensuring equipment is in the correct location
each week.

Skills and Attributes:

• Park Tennis Activators must be 18+ (in order to complete DBS check)

• Good Communication and organisational skills.

• You do not need to be a good tennis player but being good with people and great fun is desirable!

• Might have links to existing groups of people, or other community groups.
