We are looking for qualified counsellors to offer support to patients and their families during treatment and following bereavement.

Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

District: Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers, Watford

Location: From your office, From home, Online, Indoor

Time of day: Weekday Mornings, Weekday Afternoons

Practical Considerations: Our volunteer counsellors may see clients at one of our patient buildings, in the clients' homes or virtually.

Requirements: Relevant qualification or training, Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Requirements (additional): Reference will be taken

Suitable for: 18 – 25 year olds, Aged 26 and over, University students, Older People, People with a visual impairment, People with restricted mobility

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Carers Support, End of Life, Bereavement & Hospices, Isolation & Loneliness, Mental Health

Full Description:
What you’ll be doing:

counselling clients in their own homes, over the phone, virtually or from our St Albans/Watford site
working as part of the team to support a wide range of people (adults only)
attending mandatory online monthly supervision


What are we looking for?

you will be able to provide Level 3 counselling support to patients, carers, family members and close friends.
an interest in improving the quality of life for people who are experiencing the impact of life-limiting illness in many different ways
