Red Trust Bushey are looking for volunteers to help at their Community Cafe. Greet visitors warmly, speak to visitors with respect and make visitors feel welcome. Take food and drink orders, give to kitchen for prep, and serve when ready. Clear tables when appropriate and help with washing up and / or drying dishes.Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

Key Responsibilities:
Cafe:
Welcome our regular and new visitors. When guests are ready, take their order for food and/ or drink and place in the designated place in the kitchen for prep. The ringing of the bell will indicate when food and/ or drinks are ready for service. Deliver to the correct person. Clear up tables when appropriate to do so. Help with washing up and/ or drying dishes. All the while, engage in chatter and laughter with our visitors if it is invited.
Welcome:
Greet visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner. The Phoenix Centre is a safe space where anyone can come for a hot drink and listening ear.
Confidentiality:
Ensure all shared information is kept confidential, respecting the privacy of individuals. Ensure you are confident who to go to with concerns.
Active Listening:
Offer undivided attention and genuine empathy to individuals sharing their concerns or experiences. Provide emotional support and positive reinforcement to help individuals feel heard and understood. Involve the Listening team if appropriate.
