March will be upon us next week, but the last few days of February will still offer some welcome opportunities for community awareness.
"Rare Disease Day", a globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, is celebrated on Tuesday 28th. The day focuses on work towards equity of social opportunity and access to healthcare, particularly to diagnosis and therapies for people living with rare diseases. You can find out more about this movement here.
Self Harm and Self Injury Awareness Day (SIAD) occurs on the 1st March every year. This is an international event that is recognised across the globe aiming to raise awareness and understanding around self-injury. If you or anyone you know are dealing with this kind of mental health problems which lead to self-harm, you can find help and support here.
"Endometriosis Action Month" begins on Friday 3rd March. This year's campaign will attempt to bust the myths, challenge the stigma and highlight the real impact of living with endometriosis. You can find ways to support the campaign here.
Please note that due to flooding our Community Hub, at 5 Leeming Road, Borehamwood is currently closed for repairs. We’re working hard to ensure alternative provision is available for those who need to meet with us as soon as possible but in the meantime please do give us a call at 01727 649930.
Stay safe, warm and have a lovely weekend!
