Fantastic Friday Update

We are approaching the end of a very busy month and are welcoming June with excitement which will be a month equally packed with opportunities aiming to increase awareness in our Community.

National Children's Gardening Week will run from tomorrow (27th) until Sunday the 4th of June and you will find a list here of activities you can do to promote children’s gardening all year-round!

National BBQ Week (29th- 4th June) celebrates this moment of social gathering as the sharing of food cooked over an open flame. We also recognise the contribution that this industry makes to our economy. You'll find some yummy inspiration to help you create the perfect BBQ event here!

Next week National Volunteers Week is back for its 39th year! At Communities 1st we get excited about this week of celebration every year as it offers the perfect opportunity to show how much we appreciate all the incredible volunteers in our community and their indispensable support. It’s also an opportunity for Volunteers to be incredibly proud of themselves for their efforts helping the good causes that matter to them.

Please note that whilst our Community Hub, at 5 Leeming Road, Borehamwood is closed for repairs due to flood damage, support is still available! We’re making every possible effort to ensure alternative provision is available for those who need to meet with us but in the meantime please do give us a call at 01727 649930 or write to us.

We also would like to take the opportunity to wish "Happy Shavuot" and “Chag Sameach” to anyone celebrating with our Jewish friends and neighbours this week.

Stay safe, warm and have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
