September is packed with very so many meaningful awareness campaigns! It is going to be a very busy month!
This coming week brings campaigns that aim to raise awareness on issues that, unfortunately, affect the lives of many in our communities.
National Pension Awareness Week 2023 (11th-15th September) is an annual five-day engagement event, aiming to empower members to better understand and value their state pension, and help them plan for their financial future. You you can find more pension information here .
Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week (11th – 17th September) aims to raise awareness and eliminate misconceptions about this invisible and currently incurable condition. This year's theme is #RAdrain – showing how the simplest day-to-day activities can drain your battery when you live with RA.
"World Sepsis Day" occurring on Wednesday 13th September is a global day of awareness to fight a devastating condition that accounts for 11 million deaths worldwide each year!
Public knowledge around sepsis still has a long way to go – one in five people haven’t heard of sepsis and one in three would not recognise the signs of sepsis as a medical emergency. For more information on sepsis, please see here.
This week will keep our fantastic Training team very busy with two events we’d love you to get involved with, if they’re of interest. Help Your Child Love Numbers on Monday 11th September (in Aberford Community Centre) and Family Budgeting on Wednesday 13th at Phillimore Community Centre.
The re-opening of our Hub in Borehamwood is getting closer and closer! We can't wait to give you a specific date! But in the meantime, we want to remind you that support is still available! Alternative provision is at hand for anyone who needs to meet with us so please do give us a call at 01727 649930 or write to us. We can’t wait to open our doors to you again very shortly!
We hope you’re able to enjoy these lovely days of sunshine as safely as possible and to see you soon!
