Fantastic Friday Update

We have some great opportunities to build our awareness of issues affecting our community through key health campaigns, this November

Mitzvah Day falls on Sunday 19th, it's an annual event dedicated to social action through volunteering, where individuals are encouraged to give their time—rather than their money—to charitable causes for a single day.

International Men's Day will be celebrated internationally on Saturday 19th November. This date is marked annually and highlights the positive impact men have on their families, communities and the world at large.

Monday 20th is Universal Children's Day the theme this year is "'for every child, every right', highlighting the campaign’s dedication to maintaining the freedoms of every child around the world. It promotes and highlights making adequate provisions for children’s general prosperity, including education, nourishment, and a safe family environment.

Safeguarding Adults Week 2023 (Monday 20th-Friday 24th November) is an opportunity for organisations to come together to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues. The aim is to protect people from harm by highlight key safeguarding issues, start conversations and raise awareness of safeguarding best practice.

Thursday 23rd is Carers Rights Day and its aim is to help unpaid family carers to be aware of their rights, know where to get help, support and raise awareness of their needs. Click here to find out more.

This Sunday, 19th November, Communities 1st will be supporting the St Albans Christmas Cracker event by running the "Community Safe Zone", a place offering some peace and quiet away from the crowd. This spectacular street festival takes place in the city centre from noon until 6pm. Come and say Hi! You’ll find us by Barclays Bank.

Take care and have a lovely weekend!
