Fantastic Friday Update

We would like to wish a happy and safe New Year to all of you!

As usual, we continue to highlight important health campaigns throughout the year that offer us the opportunity to build our awareness of issues affecting our community.

January is "Love Your Liver Awareness Month" and this campaign aims to make people aware of how important is our liver health. Find more info about it here.

"Big Energy Saving Week" will run from January 17th to January 23rd 2024This is a week-long initiative that focuses on empowering people to take control of their energy consumption and make informed decisions about energy usage. It provides guidance on how to reduce energy waste, improve home insulation, and access financial support for energy bills.

The "Welcome Space Network" is a project designed to provide comprehensive support and resources to vulnerable and isolated individuals across Hertfordshire. This two-year project aims to establish a network of 30 Warm Welcome Hubs, offering a range of services. You can find more information about it in this newsletter.

A fresh new year is usually accompanied by renewed inspiration, resolutions and good intentions. Why do not visit our training page to see if there is anything of interest to you?

Communities 1st would also like to wish "Happy New Year" to our Orthodox friends celebrating on Sunday 14th!

Have a lovely weekend!

Brew Monday 2024

On 15 January 2024 - on Brew Monday- everyone is encouraged to get together for a cuppa and a catch-up.

Unfortunately, feeling low isn’t just reserved for Mondays or a random day in January. Any day can be a Brew Monday. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Monday morning or Saturday night, or if you’re drinking green tea, black coffee or orange juice. If you’re sharing a cuppa and listening, you’re doing it right.

If you look for ideas on how to check in with someone in a conversation, have a look here.
